Cook Islands dive sites range offer a diverse diving experience. In Aitutaki, there are sites both inside and outside the lagoon. In the waters surrounding Rarotonga, there are a full range of sites, with coral caves and swim-throughs, reef sharks, rays and large pelagic fish, some wrecks to explore and some amazing drop-offs. The passage along the south side of the island can have strong currents and offers some challenging dives for experienced divers. Other sites around the island are perfect for those with less experience. With a number of boat launch spots around the island (which takes no time to get around with the coastal road) means that divers can access the sites with their guides without long boat transfers.
Diving Accommodation
Whether you plan on diving Aitutaki or Rarotonga, you will find accommodation to suit your budget. In addition to resorts, there are budget units, private rentals and all-inclusive villas.
